If you want to get leads that means that means that you have to offer something in return. Never forget that anything that is worth having is worth working for and is not for free. Do not be fooled or trick into expensive and time-consuming markets ploys. Rather be one step ahead and offer something.
Most people never grasp that if you want good leads and referrals you must provided some tangible viable product that people appreciated and enjoy. From that you will get leads. So how do I do this? What is the trick?
What you need to do is establish yourself with a Website or Blog as a platform and use this as your base of operation. This is very important for two reasons 1). You need to have a place that people can go, a place that is reliable and easy to recall. 2). In this day of Internet marketing and data transmission you will be in line to do business and also communicate both to your clients and prospective clients.
Now offer something! House Portraits, Note Cards, Listings, etc. You have to look at what you like and work an angle to market that to your benefit and draw a following. When you market do not offer things that people do not want. It is a waste of time and money to run around to luncheons and seminar passing out business cards, pens, and key rings. I can tell you first hand that all the cards that I receive I trash. Why? Because I do not know them and I am not in the market for what they are trying to sell me.
Find your market, develop your product, and make your platform. Do this and you will see the leads coming to you.
